Hi, We are Dale and Debbie and we invite you to come enjoy a truly memorable and relaxing mountain cabin getaway in our one and two bedroom cabins in the rural setting of the Lower Blue River Valley, at the south end of the Green Mountain Reservoir in Summit County, in the Central Rocky Mountains. And, yes, Guss insists that our cabins are pet friendly.
The area remains today much the same as it was over 50 years ago, with a beautiful hay meadow and grazing cattle on the neighboring ranch. It is not uncommon to see, in the early morning and late afternoon hours, the elk and deer grazing in the meadow.
one of Colorado's best kept secrets.
The area offers a unique change of scene and pace from all the big resorts only 25-40 minutes down the road - Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Copper Mountain.
Fishing the Gold Medal Trout waters of the Lower Blue River, at the inlet to the reservoir, is only 100 yards from your door.
Bird watching, including our nesting pair of eagles and their babies, just a couple miles up the road and numerous osprey in the area.
Evening campfires you can only enjoy "out in the country".
Boating - Launch your boat at the McDonald Flats boat ramp about 1/2 mile away or
are also available at the Heeney Marina.
Green Mountain Reservoir offers a wide variety of water sports:
fishing, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, and windsurfing can all be enjoyed.
Hunting big game, elk and deer, in White River National Forest is the some of the best in the state - hunting units 28, 37 and 371.
4-wheel drive enthusiasts catch some AWESOME views of the Gore Range from on top of the Williams Peak Range.
About 5 miles up the road, is the charming lakeside village of Heeney.
The town's history is obscure but it originally grew from the construction of the Green Mountain Reservoir dam in the late 30's. Many of the cabins have been passed down for generations as summer vacation homes.
Boat rentals are available from the Heeney Marina, a t-shirt from Master Bait and Tackle and a six pack from Chance Liquor, all area businesses, will make your visit complete!
